2016 in Retrospect

Always Learning. Always Growing.

At the beginning of 2016, I decided to start to live by this principle. No matter what, I could rest assured that I would learn something and grow either positively or negatively. Just by adjusting my thoughts, doors began to fly open. I met my best friend Lexy who has empowered me and my walk with Christ. Academically, I decided to stop focusing on getting the coveted 100% or joining clubs just to help my resumé, and rather taking learning outside of the classroom for my own joy. (WV State Science Fair, HOBY, French National Honor Society,  AFS) While I love Hedgesville High School, God placed the desire on my heart to call another place home.  I needed to make a huge change if I wanted huge results. January 20, 2016 was the very day I started the application to become an exchange student. I could not be more thankful for all of the experiences, people I have met, and lessons I have already learned! I may have had rough spots in 2016, but I can only remember them as a positive event that God used to shape me! I know that 2017 will be a year of even more growth in my walk with Christ and breaking through letting fear hold me back.

Joshua 1:9

“This is my command. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
